Top 3 Deadliest and incurable diseases known to man today

To say humanity has made significant technological advancements in every field of life would be an understatement considering the current state of affairs. We have walked on the moon, landed a probe on Mars (rumors are that it would be colonized soon) and completely eradicated some of the most deadly diseases that used to wipe out entire cities only a few decades ago. Considering all the ground breaking achievements it’s hard to believe that there are still diseases which are incurable and quite fatal. Here’s a look at top deadliest and incurable diseases known to man today and what exactly make them so lethal.

HIV- AIDS

The top entrant on this list is going to be a ubiquitous place holder in lists of such kind. Some people would argue that there’s a combination of drug which has “functionally cured” an infant recently that contracted the disease from the mother but still substantial amount of research is required to make the drug combination viable and publicly available option.  For the time being Human Immuno Deficiency Syndrome has no cure, there are drugs that can slow the progression of disease though but can’t eradicate it completely. HIV is the precursor for AIDS Acquired Immuno Deficiency disorder which leaves the body prone to infections and cancer (another deadly incurable disease on the list) and ultimately causes death. AIDS spreads through usage of unsterilized syringes, having unprotected sex with an infected person or blood transfusion. The best method for deterrence against this deadly virus is exercising extreme caution and imparting awareness to the masses about it spread and prevention.

Cancer

This disease was the number spot holder until the discovery of HIV virus in the 80’s. Cancer involves abnormal growth of cells in the body which are invasive in nature. There are over 100 distinct forms of cancer and treatment in most cases depends on early detection. Both the genders are equally prone to this deadly disease with lung, stomach, liver, colorectal and esophagus cancer mostly manifesting in men and breast, lung, stomach, colorectal and cervical cancer ailing women. To this day there’s no viable and potent cure available for cancer. Tobacco usage has been authentically linked with causing and exacerbating mouth, lung and esophagus cancer. Hence most countries have begun to clamp down on tobacco cultivation and smoking as prevention method.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a collective term which is erroneously given to both its types. Diabetes type 1 entails lack of insulin production in the body which mostly afflicts children and people under 40 years of age. Diabetes type 2 is the most wide spread and common type entails the cells in the body not properly responding to insulin production. The common perception is that diabetes sufferer are mostly overweight, obese people who have a sedentary life style though this is accurate for diabetes type 2 but for diabetes type 1 nothing could be further from the truth. People who suffer from diabetes type 1 have essentially lost beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin and hence this ailment is not curable. Although rare diabetes type 1 afflicted people could be physically fit but still be effected by it.
