London is passing through the season of change. The long temperate days of summer have ended and soon the cool breezes, rains, and snowfalls will strike the city. Are you prepared for that? Have you checked your wardrobe for warm clothes and stored coffee and soda in your kitchen cabinets? Is your skin ready for the season, too? Yes, it’s true. For protecting your skin from getting dehydrated and dried, you must start some simple skincare remedies few weeks before the dry wind crash into your face and make it arid. Here, I am listing 10 simple and natural skin care tips for you that won’t involve much money or effort. All you need is some time for your skin care:

1.    Keep your skin moisturized - Use night and day creams on face and hands regularly, apply natural oils on your body after every bath, and purchase oil-balancing rather oil-removing skincare products.

2.    Select natural moisturizers or perfume-free skincare products - Honey, buttermilk, Olive or Avocado oil and many other kitchen products can nourish you dry skin without much side effects. If you’re purchasing a moisturizing cream or lotion, select one without perfumes because perfuming chemicals can cause irritation.

3.    Cleanse your face before applying moisturizer - Never apply moisturizer without cleansing your face because the dirt, dust and old filthy oil on your face will get stuck to your skin if you apply moisturizer over them.

4.    Protect your skin from sun rays - Do not mistake sun screens as summer products, you need them throughout the year.

5.    Avoid silk and woolen under garments - Skin during dry season get allergic to silk and woolen clothes. So for garments that touch your skin directly, select cotton wears.

6.    Do not use over-heated water bath - Hot water can remove natural oils from your skin and, if it’s over-heated, can even burn the skin cells. Use lukewarm water, instead.

7.    Drink 8-10 glass of water, regularly - During winter season our intake of water gets lessened which makes our skin dehydrated and parched. Keep your water intake as normal as was during summer.

8.    Keep away from heaters - It’s because of heaters that the weather in our houses is drier than it is outside. Avoid exposing your skin too much to them and do not get too close to heaters.

9.    Have yummy honeyed milk drink - You need to keep your body healthy from inside for natural skin care. Both honey and milk are best for this so add one or two spoons of honey in a glass of warm milk and have it regularly before sleeping.

10.  Use lip and heel balms - The most affected areas of skin during winter are lips and foot heels. Start using lip balms and petroleum jelly before winter to make them soft and ready for fighting the dry season.

With these simple skin care tips, you can make your skin ready for the coming season. Happy winters!
